Bamboo pajamas are a fantastic option for hot sleepers like myself. They're made from breathable fabric that helps regulate your body temperature and reduces night sweats. And they come in a variety of styles, including long sleeves, short sleeves, and pajama sets.
Bamboo fabric feels silky and gentle. It's often compared to cashmere or silk, feeling almost like a second skin and keeping you cool in summer and cozy in winter.
In fact, they're so soft and comfortable that my wife and daughters wanted a pair of their own! So we set out to find the best bamboo pajamas for the whole family.
A word of warning, though. Not all of the so-called bamboo clothing on the market is made equal. Some only use a small percentage of natural fibers, while others are just too expensive.
This guide is for eco-conscious shoppers who want the comfort of genuine bamboo while avoiding greenwashing. Only affordable brands that use sustainable materials make our shortlist.

✔ OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100
✔ Holiday Collections
✔ Lasts 80+ Washes
Why It's Best Overall: Bellabu Bear is the only bamboo sleepwear brand to have ever been awarded the NEA (National Eczema Association) Seal of Acceptance. The NEA has since retired its textile category, but Bellabu Bear says that it still makes its pajamas to the same skin-friendly standards.
Bellabu Bear's pajamas are tested for over 1,000 chemicals by OEKO-TEX, and are designed to withstand at least 80 washing cycles.
Why It's Great for Matching Family Sets: Bellabu Bear uses the same soft, OEKO-TEX-certified bamboo fabric across baby, kids, and adult sizes. This gives peace of mind when dressing the whole family in coordinated sets.
Little Sleepies and Kyte Baby also sell matching sets. However, Bellabu Bear is my favorite because its seasonal collections give families the widest choice of matching designs of the brands I tested. They also have short sleeve options that are ideal for summertime use.
Personal Experience: Our family has a Thanksgiving tradition of buying matching pajamas that we wear for most of the rest of the year. Bellabu Bear has been the go-to choice for a few years now. I still wear sets from years ago, and they've held up remarkably well (easily past the 80+ washes stated on the Bellabu Bear website).
We chose The Polar Express this year, and I'm happy to report that my daughters are still happy posing for holiday photos with their lame parents.
I wash our Bellabu Bear pajamas inside out in cold water and tumble them on low heat as instructed. The spandex has maintained its stretch, which means the pajamas still fit comfortably even after dozens of washes. One set has developed minor pilling because I accidentally washed it with jeans. However, this is 100% my fault, as Bellabu Bear does warn against washing with rough items.
Bellabu Bear manufactures its pajamas in China. Most bamboo pajama brands use Chinese manufacturing because the process that converts bamboo into fabric is carried out in China, near the bamboo forests. Brands reduce costs and shipping emissions by sewing pajamas where they produce the fabric, rather than shipping heavy fabric rolls overseas.

✔ All-Season Wear
✔ Long-Lasting
✔ Feels Comfy
Why It's the Best for Kids & Children: Little Sleepies makes most of its children's pajamas from custom-milled Lunaluxe® Bamboo. The brand's website claims that this material is hypoallergenic and gentle on sensitive or eczema-prone skin.
Little Sleepies is best for older children because it sells a wide range of colors, designs, and patterns to support self-expression. It also sells bamboo sleep products for babies and toddlers, but I prefer Kyte Baby for younger children.
The brand is not yet OEKO-TEX-certified, but, after detailed research, I still recommend it. When asked about the lack of certification, Little Sleepies said, "As of yet, we do not have, but are actively working on the OEKO-TEX certification. It is a process that takes some time. However, all of our products have been independently lab tested and are free of chemicals and flame retardants."
Parents who are upgrading sleepwear for sensitive kids might also want to look at certified non-toxic organic kids bedding to create a safer overall sleep environment.
I trust Little Sleepies. However, if certified status is your top priority when shopping for children's pajamas, I recommend you check out Bellabu Bear.
Personal Experience: My nephew Alfie tested Little Sleepies pajamas for four months after his mom asked me to find something softer than his cotton PJs.
The Jurassic Jungle Two-Piece Pajama Set was an instant hit (Alfie is dinosaur-obsessed), and he wears his Little Sleepies constantly. So much so that his mom has to keep stealing them to wash them because he refuses to take them off.
The Lunaluxe® Bamboo felt incredibly soft when I first took these bamboo pjs out of the packaging. My sister-in-law told me the Little Sleepies Jurassic Jungle pajamas stayed soft and comfy through dozens of washes without shrinking.

✔ High Bamboo Content
✔ OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100
✔ Family-Run Factory
Why It's the Best for Babies & Toddlers: Kyte Baby makes its pajamas with 97% bamboo (2% more than the other brands I tested) and holds OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 certification. Certifications for bamboo fabric are not as common as for cotton, so seeing it on baby sleep products is reassuring. It means the pajamas you give your little one have been tested for over 1,000 chemicals.
Kyte Baby controls manufacturing better than some of the other brands I tested because the founder's aunt owns the factory.
Personal Experience: A neighbor asked me for advice on bamboo sleepwear for his 1-year-old son, who was overheating and waking up sweaty and uncomfortable most nights. I researched over a dozen bamboo baby sleepwear brands and recommended Kyte Baby for its temperature-regulating properties and sleep bag design.
He ordered a 1.0 TOG sleep bag and a printed romper, and I followed his testing experience over six weeks during the summer heat.
Kyte Baby's bamboo rayon fabric is much cooler to the touch than the cotton sleep sack his son had been using. The pajamas have the same soft feel as premium baby ranges, but with the added breathability and sustainability of bamboo. My neighbor has told me that his son slept through the night more consistently within the first week.
Kyte Baby experienced a U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) recall in November 2024 for Slumber Suits that did not meet federal flammability standards. However, I have dug deep into the facts and am confident this mix-up was an isolated incident.

✔ Save 35% (Code: THEROUNDUP)
✔ Recommended by Oprah
✔ Ultra-Soft Luxury
Why These are the Best Women's Bamboo Pajamas: Cozy Earth pajamas are designed to be temperature-regulating. They're a favorite for hot sleepers because the bamboo fabric stays super cool through the night. The size range fits most body shapes with XS-3XL options and regular/tall inseams. They also come recommended by Oprah Winfrey.
Why It's the Best for Luxury: Cozy Earth specializes in bamboo pajamas made from viscose from bamboo and spandex. Their fabric has a lovely weight and drapes like silk, rather than hanging limply like cheaper brands. The stitching has not come loose through years of testing by my wife, and the classic "buttery soft" bamboo feels like it's getting softer with every wash.
Cozy Earth is so confident in the quality of its pajamas that it offers a lifetime manufacturing defect warranty. This is the longest warranty offered by all the brands I've recommended. The next longest is Cariloha (one year).
This brand was in the running for 'Best Overall.' However, I had to knock a star off because Cozy Earth doesn't clearly list any third-party fabric certifications (such as OEKO-TEX) for its bamboo pajamas.
Personal Experience: Cozy Earth's Women's Bamboo Stretch-Knit Long Sleeve Pajama Set has been my wife's go-to for cooler nights for many years.
She usually treats pajama sets like coats. Wear for a season and then donate or recycle. I know...she's working on it! But she loves her Cozy Earth pajama set so much that it has lasted through three winters so far.
It's a sign of the quality of Cozy Earth's bamboo fabric that these pajamas still look pretty much as good as new. The color is not quite as bright, but this pajama set still has plenty of life left in it.
Cozy Earth sleepwear is generously sized for maximum comfort around the house. My wife recommends sizing down for the best fit if you're between sizes.

✔ Ethical B Corp Brand
✔ Fewer Washes
✔ Durable Organic Cotton Blend
Why It's the Best Choice for Men's Sleepwear: As a man who maybe (definitely! 😉) doesn't wash his pajamas often enough, I was drawn to Cariloha's claim that its men's sleep pants repel odors. After six months of testing (and very little washing), my experience of the Cariloha Men's Bamboo Sleep Pants backs up that claim. Even after many weeks of use with no washing, they have never started to smell.
Bellabu Bear is my other recommendation for men's pajamas because I love its wide range of holiday designs. However, for most of the year, I like to sleep topless. With Cariloha, I can buy just the sleep pants (or shorts) without paying for a set when I don't want the top.
Cariloha is also the only brand in this guide that is B Corp certified. This certification means that third-party auditors have verified Cariloha's environmental and social practices. I value this verification because it supports Cariloha's sustainability claims with accessible documentation rather than unverified marketing claims.
Personal Experience: Cariloha makes some of its pajamas with the common blend of 95% viscose from bamboo and 5% spandex. However, I prefer the 67% bamboo, 28% organic cotton, and 5% spandex mix used to make the Cariloha Men's Bamboo Sleep Pants. My testing has shown me that the added organic cotton increases durability.
These sleep pants have been my favorite sleepwear for over a year now. They're loose-fitting, super cozy, and keep me at a nice temperature all night long. Win-Win-Win!
Cariloha does not show the OEKO-TEX certification on its pajama listing, and my sleep pants do not contain an OEKO-TEX label. However, the brand has assured me that it uses certified materials.
Cariloha states that "no harmful chemicals were used during production of our bamboo products" and that they are "certified to be chemical free." They also say, "Cariloha products have been tested for harmful substances according to the criteria applicable to them under the Oeko-Tex Standard 100."

✔ Body-Type Inclusivity
✔ Value for Money
✔ Pregnancy & Breastfeeding
Why It's the Best for Plus Size & Inclusive Fits: Latuza sells bamboo pajamas in sizes S to 4X Plus. This is great because many bamboo sleepwear brands stop at XL or 2XL, which often leaves plus-size shoppers with limited choices.
I have tried to include as many plus-size-friendly brands as possible in this guide. Little Sleepies, Kyte Baby, Cozy Earth, and Kindred Bravely all offer adult options up to 3XL. Cozy Earth is an especially good alternative for plus-size shoppers because it sells 3XL sizes and tall inseams.
Why It's Recommended for Affordability: Latuza bamboo pajamas cost on average 50-60% less than luxury brands like Cozy Earth. My testing shows that the Latuza fabric is slightly thinner than Cozy Earth's, but its softness and breathability still really impressed me for the price.
Personal Experience: Latuza's Nursing Nightgown and Robe Set was one of my sister-in-law's favorite bedtime items when she was pregnant with our nephew Alfie.
She suffered terribly with hot flashes, but she tells me that her Latuza set helped cool her down at night, and also made breastfeeding access easier.
Latuza has a 4.6/5 rating on Amazon for its Nursing Nightgown and Robe Set. This rating suggests to me that most women who've tried it also think it's an excellent option.
Latuza claims on its website that "We have Oeko-Tex ® and BCI certification for our fabrics." However, I can find no mention of this on Amazon, and my sister-in-law's Latuza set doesn't have an OEKO-TEX label. This certification gap is typical for budget bamboo brands, where fabric suppliers hold certifications but finished garments don't have individual labels.

✔ Button-Down Nursing Access
✔ Regulating Temperature
✔ Ultra-Soft & Breathable
Why It's the Best for Pregnancy & Maternity/Nursing: Kindred Bravely's bamboo pajamas feature stretchy waistbands that expand with a growing belly and button-front tops that open easily for middle-of-the-night feeds. The brand states that the fabric is breathable and temperature-regulating to help you stay cool and comfortable during pregnancy night sweats.
Kindred Bravely is a maternity and postpartum specialist and sells a wide range of pregnancy and nursing essentials. If you want even more options, Latuza is a high-quality bamboo sleeperwear manufacturer that also sells good pregnancy and maternity options.
Personal Experience: Kindred Bravely is my sister-in-law's all-time favorite maternity-specific brand. The Clea Bamboo Pajama Set became her most-worn sleepwear from her second trimester through eight months of nursing.
She demonstrated the button-front nursing access during overnight stays at our house when Alfie was a newborn. The Kindred Bravely bamboo top was easy to unbutton quickly for nighttime feeds without fumbling in the dark or lifting her entire shirt.
I examined the construction quality and fabric of the Clea Bamboo Pajama Set during her visits. The bamboo material felt noticeably softer and cooler than other brands I've tested and rejected.
My sister-in-law told me the elastic waistband sat comfortably over her growing bump without digging in. It also stayed comfortable postpartum without losing tension or rolling down.
My wife and I spent over six months researching and testing bamboo pajamas for this guide, with input from friends and family members who agreed to help us evaluate different brands.
We started by ordering pajamas from more than 20 bamboo sleepwear brands. Each set went through real-world testing in our home, which meant wearing them multiple nights per week and washing them regularly to assess long-term durability and comfort.
Here are the key criteria we considered when rating each brand:
We rejected several brands that looked promising on paper but failed to meet our standards during testing. Some used misleading "bamboo blend" labeling for products that were mostly polyester. Others made sustainability claims they couldn't back up with certifications or transparent manufacturing information. A few simply didn't hold up after repeated washing, with excessive pilling or loss of softness.
We purchased every item in this guide with our own money. We were not gifted any products by brands, and no brand is permitted to pay for inclusion in this list. Our recommendations are based solely on our testing experience and evaluation criteria.
Bamboo pajamas are moisture-wicking, incredibly soft, and hypoallergenic. The main benefits include:
Despite the benefits, it's important to realize that greenwashing remains an issue in the industry, and not all so-called bamboo pajamas are the same.
The bamboo fabric industry is a pretty murky one (although it’s getting better).
Many sellers/manufacturers try all the greenwashing tactics in the book to convince you that their product is sustainable.
Make sure you buy from a reputable source, and you know exactly what blend of fabric has gone into your bamboo pajamas.
Steer clear of products labeled as bamboo that are just polyester with a small amount of bamboo fibers added.
I’ve done all the heavy lifting for you. You can rest assured that all the products recommended in this article maintain good sustainability standards.
To keep your bamboo pajamas in perfect condition, always follow the manufacturer's care label. If this is unavailable, use the following general guidelines.
With proper care, good quality bamboo pajamas maintain a buttery-soft feel even after multiple washes.
Due to its temperature-regulating and moisture-wicking properties, sustainable bamboo fabric always keeps you at the perfect temperature.
If temperature regulation is important to you, look for a set of bamboo pajamas with as close to 100% bamboo rayon or bamboo viscose content as possible.
Yes, there is a good chance your bamboo PJs will shrink if exposed to heat. That's why you should always wash your bamboo PJs in cold water, and air dry.
Yes, bamboo dries around 10% faster than cotton.
No. Some manufacturers claim that bamboo fabric is antibacterial, but there is no scientific evidence of this.
In fact, some studies show the opposite, that natural bamboo fiber has no natural antibacterial properties (Xi et al., 2013; FTC).
The material used is the same for women's bamboo pajamas and men’s. The main differences are:
I have to admit that before I started testing the best bamboo pajamas, I had my doubts about how comfortable, effective, and eco-friendly the fabric would be.
But now I’ve been somewhat converted to the idea of using bamboo fiber for pajamas.
It's simply a case of selecting the right brands to ensure that the undoubted sustainable qualities of raw bamboo are not lost in the processes used to convert it into bamboo viscose.
My top pick, Bellabu Bear, is one such brand.
When bamboo sleepwear is produced in a closed-loop system that reduces water usage and water pollution, the environmental benefits are obvious. And the finished result is certainly a game changer in terms of comfort, particularly if you sleep hot.
Where do you buy your environmentally friendly bamboo nightwear? Have I missed your favorite brand? Or are you still on the fence about the actual eco-friendly credentials of bamboo viscose? Drop me a line and let me know.

Our core values mean we always prioritize sustainability over profit. We carefully evaluate and personally test every product to ensure they meet our high standards. All products recommended in this article were tested in accordance with our Review Methodology.
