The BedVoyage Brand: A Quick Overview

BedVoyage, a woman-owned brand based in Washington State, has pioneered bamboo bedding and bath products since 2008.

Products are shipped from a Las Vegas warehouse to ensure the fastest shipping times across the US.

Sharon Stuart (BedVoyage CEO & Founder) believes that being a female-owned business has given BedVoyage a unique advantage in developing its bedding product lines. She feels that because bedding has a specific emotional connection, she can better understand her customer's needs.

The fabrics used by BedVoyage have a soft texture that feels great on your skin. It falls nicely over your body as you move and retains a fresh and clean scent for longer than cotton bedding.

Sharon's goal was to provide a luxurious sleeping experience for families, friends, and anyone looking for comfort and style. She aimed to offer the best quality possible, allowing people to snuggle up and relax naturally.

In her own words: "I've been a sheet snob my entire life, when I set out to design the perfect sheets I wanted to create something luxuriously soft that offered health and sleep benefits, all while being affordable. I think I've succeeded, as our loyal fans tell us they'll no longer sleep on anything but BedVoyage bamboo!"

BedVoyage Review Criteria

I'm very thorough when reviewing eco-friendly and sustainable brands and products.

To provide you with a comprehensive assessment of BedVoyage, I tested a variety of its products, focusing on factors such as build quality, materials, and comfort.

Additionally, I thoroughly evaluated the BedVoyage brand, examining aspects such as sustainability, ethics, shipping, returns, and pricing.

Based on my extensive research and testing, here's what I found.

Items Tested

Materials: 100% viscose from bamboo
Sizes: Twin XL, Full, Queen, King, Cal King, Split King

I've tested countless bamboo bed sheets over the years (seriously…I've actually lost count), and not many have impressed me as much as these bamboo bed sheets from BedVoyage.

Prices start at $149, and the exact contents of each set depend on the size you order:

  • Twin XL: 1 x fitted sheet (39" x 80" x 18"), 1 x flat sheet (71" x 106"), 1 x pillowcase (20 x 26)
  • Full: 1 x fitted sheet (54" x 75" x 18"), 1 x flat sheet (87" x 103"), 2 x pillowcases (20 x 26)
  • Queen: 1 x fitted sheet (60" x 80" x 18"), 1 x flat sheet (97" x 109"), 2 x pillowcases (20 x 26)
  • King: 1 x fitted sheet (78" x 80" x 18"), 1 x flat sheet (116" x 109"), 2 x pillowcases (20 x 36)
  • Cal King: 1 x fitted sheet (72" x 84" x 18"), 1 x flat sheet (110" x 113"), 2 x pillowcases (20 x 36)
  • Split King: 2 x fitted sheets (39" x 80" x 18"), 1 x flat sheet (116" x 109"), 2 x pillowcases (20 x 36)

The sheets are luxurious, breathable, and durable. After testing them out for a few weeks, I can confidently say that they're among the best sheet sets on the market.

The fabric is incredibly soft against my skin, and I never wake up feeling sweaty or uncomfortable like I do with other sheets.

They also stay in place throughout the night, which I appreciate. The deep pockets ensure a snug fit around even the deepest mattress, and the 12" length added to the flat sheet means that it won't come untucked.

I also love that they're hypoallergenic and resistant to bacteria, so my sheets stay fresh for longer.

These sheets get softer with every wash. I've washed them three times so far (in cool water), and they're now buttery soft, and feel incredibly luxurious!

The included pillowcases are also very impressive (silky soft, even for my stubbly face) and are the perfect casing for your favorite organic pillow.

Materials: 65% viscose from bamboo, 30% plush cotton, 5% polyester
Sizes: Various - See Below

Mrs. M and our two girls love a pamper session/weekend at home, so we need a large pile of luxurious and hard-wearing towels ready to go at a moment's notice.

This 8pc towel set retails at $129 and is a great way to get all the towels you need in one handy bundle:

  • 2 x bath towels (30" x 54")
  • 2 x hand towels (16" x 27")
  • 4 x washcloths (13" x 13")

Every item is made from 65% viscose from bamboo, 30% plush cotton, and 5% polyester, resulting in a luxuriously soft texture not found in traditional towels.

Yes, there is a small amount of polyester used in these towels. However, it's an acceptably small amount that adds significant longevity to these towels and washcloths.

After testing them for a few weeks, Mrs. M and the girls agree they're super soft and absorbent (resulting in quicker drying time and zero skin irritation).

I also love that they're resistant to mildew, bacteria, and odors, making them stay fresh longer than 100% cotton towels. A godsend when you have daughters who leave wet towels all over their bedrooms!

This towel set is Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certified and has passed all flammability testing in the USA and Canada.

It has also been Green America Business certified, passed a SMETA Social Responsibility audit, and NWBC Women Owned certified, so lives up to some serious ethical and sustainable standards.

Materials: 100% viscose from bamboo
Sizes: 28" x 52" x 6"

If you're looking for a quality fitted crib sheet to pair with your baby's organic crib mattress, you could do much worse than BedVoyage.

Priced at just $30, the 100% Bamboo Fitted Crib Sheet is made from 100% viscose from bamboo and is incredibly soft and comfortable against baby's sensitive skin.

The fabric is also resistant to pilling with its enhanced tight twill weave.

There is also the peace of mind of an Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certification, so you know it's been manufactured in an environmentally responsible factory and is free from harmful substances.

The elastic on the sheet is incredibly strong and durable and fits perfectly over a standard crib mattress.

This fitted sheet will keep your baby cool all night long. Thanks to the thermal regulating properties of bamboo, baby stays dry and comfortable.

I also love that this fitted sheet is resistant to bacteria, which means it will last longer than standard cotton crib sheets.

BedVoyage has a range of baby gift options, all nicely tied up with a bow. The super cute Bamboo Hooded Bath Towel Set is my favorite.

Build Quality & Durability

The build quality of BedVoyage's products is remarkable.

The fabrics are thick, soft, and luxurious (perfect for a good night's sleep), and the stitching is solid and secure.

You can rest assured that your purchase will last you many years.

Materials & Comfort

BedVoyage offers products made from 100% bamboo viscose and also products made from a bamboo and cotton mix.

Everything BedVoyage makes is incredibly soft, breathable, and hypoallergenic (great if you have sensitive skin).

No matter how hot or cold you are at night, BedVoyage bedding will keep you comfortable all night long (no more night sweats!). Plus, with its natural antifungal and antibacterial properties, you can be sure your sheets and towels will remain fresh and clean.

The towels and baby products are super soft and absorbent.

The bamboo used by BedVoyage is organically grown Moso bamboo. Unfortunately,  there are no organic certifications, but I've been assured that all bamboo used is organic.

Sustainability & Ethics

BedVoyage is committed to sustainability and ethical manufacturing standards.

It has many product and company-specific eco-certifications to help you avoid greenwashing, including:

  • Oeko-Tex
  • Green America
  • Fair Trade
  • Vegan

Additionally, the company uses natural dyes, which are better for the environment than synthetic dyes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do bamboo sheets wrinkle?

Yes, bamboo sheets can wrinkle, but they tend to wrinkle less than traditional cotton sheets.

Bamboo fabric is generally softer and more supple, which allows it to drape smoothly on the bed and resist excessive wrinkling. However, some wrinkles may still form, especially after washing in warm water and drying.

Can bamboo sheets go in the dryer?

To dry bamboo sheets, you can use a dryer on a low heat setting to speed up the process, but it's best to hang them out to dry if possible.

This will help to keep the fibers, colors, and elasticity intact. Just be sure not to leave them in direct sunlight too long, as this can cause the colors to fade.

Can I buy a comforter duvet cover from BedVoyage?

Yes. BedVoyage sells numerous duvet cover options for your favorite comforter.

I've not tested any yet, but they look outstanding, and I'm sure you'll absolutely love them. You can view the full range here.

Is BedVoyage a luxury brand?

Thanks to its high-quality materials and dedication to comfort and sustainability, I consider BedVoyage a mid-range luxury brand.

The softness, breathability, and thermal-regulating properties of their bedding products create a luxurious sleep experience that rivals many (more expensive) high-end brands.

The Final Word

BedVoyage is an excellent choice if you're looking for a luxurious sleep experience to help you get the required hours of sleep each night.

Its products are made from 100% bamboo (or a cotton bamboo mix), are soft and comfortable, and offer thermal regulating properties to keep you cool all night long.

With its commitment to sustainability and ethical manufacturing practices, BedVoyage offers an exceptional product at a fair (but above-average) price.

Plus…you can use our exclusive discount code ROUNDUP15 for 15% off your purchase to make the price even fairer! 😉
